Textile zinnia hoop art.
I discovered zinnia flowers just this year and I'm a huge fan of their vibrancy and range of colours. Using inspiration from a zinnia I grew this year, this piece of art features a zinnia in shades of red and orange.
Each petal is cut from a piece of painted fabric, layered and stitched to create a complete flower. I have added tiny red beads and embroidery at the centre.
Sewn onto a piece if delicately patterned fabric with the word 'bloom' that has been typed onto calico.
Framed in a 5" embroidery hoop.
